Hello my name is Abigail but you can call me Abby!
I am a licensed massage therapist here in beautiful Washington State, I have been practicing therapeutic massage for over 5 years now and have had much experience working with all types of cases. I have worked in many therapeutic based practices like chiropractic clinics and physical therapy clinics. During those employment stages of my life I have realized the need for muscle/body work is everywhere. It is not always based solely on if you've been involved in an accident and/or have pain. This is just one of the reasons why I have decided to build my own business and to focus on any and everyone dealing with the multitudes of different pains life throws at us.
I was born and raised in the great expanse of the last frontier, Alaska. Growing up there in the beautiful cool north of America we had a unique childhood that I would say was the best any kid could ask for!! I was raised up there with my four siblings, two older brothers, one younger sister and one younger brother. Me being smack in the middle and the oldest girl, my two older brothers were my best friends but they were also my biggest competition until my two younger sibling came along, then it started all over again! I would describe my childhood as the ideal wild child upbringing, we grew up with the freedom to run and explore the vast nature of Alaska. With a childhood filled with memories of hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, boating, skiing, snowmobiling and so much more, we naturally learned how to live in and respect nature along with the entirety of the natural world.
My interest in the nature of the body and how it works may have started long before I realized it. With both parents in the medical field, my fascination began with the knowledge my mom was a nurse in the US Air Force then became a school nurse, as well as interest in my dad starting his own chiropractic business in Alaska. Needless to say I was always around bodywork and health care constantly and encouraged to be independent and learn.
So I did, embarking in a 9 month therapeutic massage specialist program after graduation from high school. I succeeded in ways I did not think possible. Finally finding my passion without even realizing where or what it was. I felt so blessed to have found therapeutic massage and even more blessed to know and be taught by my amazing instructor. He is a one of a kind person, you could feel the passion he has for helping other and teaching what he loves. It fed off on me, even more encouraging me to continue my education and learn many modalities.
I love to practice different modalities of myofacial release with both muscle manipulation along with the use of tools. I am currently certified or becoming certified in the modalities of dry cupping, Gua Sha, hot stone, reflexology, prenatal/postnatal and trigger point therapy. Trigger point therapy is something that is fascinating to me and I am in the process of studying more about how they form and how to best address nerve pain on a broad spectrum. I am still on my educational journey and I don't believe it will ever end. The Lord has blessed me in more ways then I know, I would love to help you in any way I am able, through Him!
Thank you for you time, I am looking forward to meeting you! Have a blessed day!
